What is the Foundation Year?
The Foundation Year, also known as an Extended Degree, is part of the undergraduate program and introduces preparatory subjects to help students transition into university and future coursework. This additional year of study lasts for one year.
The Foundation Year is mandatory for students who do not meet direct entry requirements, based on their academic background and qualifications. After reviewing the application and supporting documents, the university will determine whether the student should begin with the Foundation Year or enter directly into Year 1.
Course Duration: 4 years
Mode of Study: Full-time (consult your advisor for possible daytime, evening, or weekend options)
English Requirements: A minimum score of 55 on the university’s internal English exam is required. Students may be exempt if they hold an IELTS certificate (with no component below 5.5) or an English Functional Skills Level 2 certificate.
